The pride of Serbia: young geniuses who push the boundaries
Over the last week and this week we have received some wonderful news. First, our friends and partners from the Mathematics High School informed about the great success of the Serbian team at the Science Olympiad held in Singapore. Our students have won many medals and commendations. Among others, Andrej Drobnjaković, a student of the Mathematical High School, won a gold medal and the absolute first place in the field of physics, and Tamara Berkesel, a student of the special department for biology and chemistry of the Novi Sad Jovan Jovanović Zmaj high school, achieved an identical result in the field of chemistry.
We are also proud of Aleksandar Vukojević, a student whose trip to the competition in Singapore we financially supported - although this time he did not receive a medal, Aleksandar received praise for his performance in the field of physics.
And a few days later, we received good news from Stuttgart: our ambassador and former scholar Olja Aleksić is the first winner of the Iréne Lejeune award. In a short statement for Click for Serbia, Olja notes that she perceives the award as an honor that she accepts with deep gratitude, first of all to her family who always supported her and other people who inspired her to persevere on her path. You can see Olja's entire statement on our Instagram.
This good news serves as a reminder that investing in youth and education is never in vain: sometimes the results are not immediately visible, but over time the value of every dinar invested in knowledge becomes greater and more obvious.
