Camping in Serbia
Camping is a recreational activity that involves a temporary stay in nature, for which tents or specially designed and adapted vehicles are usually used for, as well as luxury tents.
Spending time in nature with a night in a tent was at one point a mere pastime embodied in turning to nature, mostly for passionate fans of this type of activity, and then many people became synonymous with vacation, so today there are various camping organizations that all this camping fans and this type of tourism organize in different ways and merge into a single world camping community.
It is interesting that the founder of modern recreational camping is Thomas Hajram Holding, who wrote the first Handbook for campers, back in 1908. Why him? Probably the most deserving is his rich experience from his childhood, when in 1853 he crossed the prairies of the USA in a caravan. In 1877, he cruised the hills of Scotland in a canoe, and the following year he repeated his success.
Although Serbia is known for its urban, rural and spa tourism, a long tradition of enjoying a holiday "under the open sky" - camping - is indispensable. The desire for freedom as well as the return to nature are one of the main reasons why people choose this type of tourism. Serbia, adorned with beautiful nature, is an ideal place where campers can spend their vacation. Camps in Serbia offer different types of accommodation (motorhomes, trailers, bungalows, tents, etc.)
In addition to various forms of this form of tourism, the most popular are bungalows.
They are a blend of comfort and nature. Fairy-tale houses, with fresh mountain air, the shore of a river or lake suitable for swimming, for nature lovers this is really the right place for a perfect vacation. The bungalows are spread all over Serbia and each is characteristic in its own way.

Camping proposal - camp Zasavica
A camp should be set up (if there are more of you) or a tent should be set up somewhere where there is a source of drinking water. If there is no spring, make sure there is a fountain nearby. The reason is more than simple - we need to boil and wash water, as well as for personal hygiene.
1. The tent is best placed on the edge of the forest (never in the forest). You should know that after the rain, water drips in the forest for hours, and a strong wind often breaks the branches of trees. And never under a lonely tree - because they are a frequent target of thunder.
2. You can easily defend yourself against insects with a suitable cream, net, or plant (neither mosquitoes nor flies gather under the walnut leaves!)
3. Weather - When the smoke rises nicely, in a straight line, be sure that it will not rain for the next 24 hours.
4. Never light a fire in the middle of a forest, as a tree or canopy can catch fire very easily.
5. What can you eat in nature? Really a lot of it, and here’s what is most commonly used: edible plants, mushrooms, crabs, snails, frogs, fish, shellfish, snakes, lizards, turtles, locusts, birds, bird eggs, all kinds of game…
6. When you want to bake something (meat, fish, etc.), wrap the food in aluminum foil and bake in hot ashes or grill. This way you will bake the fish in 15 minutes (7-8 minutes on each side) and the meat in about 40 minutes. Everything you bake is grilled, never on fire.
7. Do not drink stagnant water or cloudy water (although clarity does not guarantee that the water is safe to drink).
8. The general rule is that you are not in any danger from wild animals if you do not disturb them.
9. During an accident in the mountains, rescuers are called by 6 signals (three short-three long) per minute, ie. one signal every 10 seconds. There is a pause of one minute, so the signals are repeated.
10. How to get rid of ticks? Tie a knot around the tick (on the neck) with a piece of thread and twist the thread gradually, tightening the loop. Very quickly, when the thread twists it in the skin, the tick falls out without leaving torn parts of the body (head).
When packing the tent on the way back, first shake it well and bend it in a dry and clean place. If you do not have the opportunity to do so, then be sure to do so when you return home. Except in an emergency, the tent is never packed wet. If that happens, because the rains can be frequent, dry the tent well when you arrive in a dry place. Of course, never near a fire, we think we were clear enough. During the morning packing, the tent can be wet from dew, so it is the same as if it were wet.
As camping tourism in Serbia is expanding, we are convinced that if you have not tried your hand at this activity, you will use this summer to prolong the adventurous spirit in you.
Enjoy nature and follow the rules of conduct in the camp.
